An urgent travel appointment is usually for people who have upcoming international travel very soon, often within about 14 days. A life-or-death emergency appointment is usually for a serious emergency involving an immediate family member outside the United States, such as death, hospice, or a life-threatening medical situation, often with travel needed within about 3 business days.
