Who we are
Passlane is an independent private company. We are not the U.S. Department of State, not the National Passport Information Center, not USCIS, and not an embassy or consulate. We are also not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any government agency.
We built Passlane for travelers, new immigrants, and people who may not feel comfortable reading complex government English. Our goal is simple. We explain the official process in clear words, show the usual options, and help you understand what may be possible if you need faster handling.

What we do, and what we do not do
We help you understand common passport routes and timing. For example, adult passport renewal may usually be done by mail with Form DS-82 if you qualify. A first passport or new passport application is usually made in person with Form DS-11 at a passport acceptance facility. Children under 16 generally need both parents to be involved. A passport card is valid for land and sea travel to certain places, but not for international air travel.
Typical timing can change, but many people see routine service in about 4 to 6 weeks and expedited service in about 2 to 3 weeks if they pay the extra official government expedite fee. Some travelers with urgent needs may qualify for a government appointment for travel within about 14 days, including certain life-or-death emergencies. These are general estimates only. How Passlane is paid
Passlane is free to you as a matching and referral service. If you ask to be connected, we may refer you to an independent private expediter that can help courier and hand-carry eligible passport or visa materials where allowed.
Important: the official government application fee and any official passport or visa fees are separate from, and not included in, a private expediter's service fee. Government fees are paid to the government. Private service fees, if you choose to use a private expediter, are different.
